Experienced External Review Panelists (two or more on-site visits) and LIS faculty are invited to learn about the updated accreditation appeal process. People who complete this training will be eligible to serve on an Appeal Review Committee in the event of an appeal. People serving on panels where the accreditation decision could result in an appeal (initial accreditation review or review of program on conditional status) are especially encouraged to attend. The training will cover grounds for appeal, how determinations are made, and the appeal process timeline as documented in Section IV of the Accreditation Process, Policies, and Procedures (AP3).

The Poetry Foundation welcomes ALA attendees to a tour of the Poetry Foundation Library hosted by Library Director Katherine Litwin and Program Director Stephen Young. The Poetry Foundation Library promotes the reading of poetry in the general public and supports the editorial needs of all Poetry Foundation programs and staff. The library’s collection of 30,000 volumes includes many rare and limited editions, and allows visitors to experience audio and video recordings in private listening booths, and to view exhibits of poetry-related materials. The Poetry Foundation hosts over 100 free public programs annually for patrons of all ages and education levels. Learn more about the Poetry Foundation with a visit to this exciting new facility.
