This panel brings together authors, publishers, academes, librarians, and other key players in the field of Latino literature for youth to address issues raised by the New York Times article about the lack of Latin@ authors and quality books for children. The panelists will engage in an honest conversation about the present and future of the Latino experience in publishing for children. Through the different perspectives represented by the panelists, attendees will gain an understanding of the current status, issues, and trends in the publication of Latino books for youth. Attendees will be part of the dialog to explore solutions and new directions in envisioning the future.
